APH England X Reader - Baking

__________

You sat up in bed, having been rudely awoken by her cell phone ringing. She sleepily picked up the device and brought it up to her ear, only to realize she didn't click answer. After doing so, you brought the phone to her ear a again. A familiar voice began to speak.

"Hello? (Y/N)?" your crush, Arthur asked through the phone. You mumbled some kind of 'yes?'

"(Y/N), would you like to come over to my house, to um.. hang out?" he asked, sounding slightly unsure of his words.

"Sure. What time?" you asked in response, already getting out of your warm sheets.

"Is.., noon, okay?" he asked.

"Sure; that works for me. See you then!" you replied, ending the call.

You cast a look at the time displayed on your mobile phone, seeing it read '11:32'. That should be enough time for some tea and toast, you thought, standing and walking to your kitchen.

After setting your kettle on your stove and toast in the toaster, you went to get dressed. You put on simple clothing, and little make-up. Returning to the kitchen, you grabbed your toast and poured some tea. Finishing it off quickly, you looked to the clock on your stove. It read '11:48'.

Grabbing a light jacket, you headed out your door and started your walk to Arthur's house.

--Time Skip of Burnt Scones (yes, they are magic, yet don't taste good.)--

You knocked on Arthur's door as you arrived. He quickly answered it.

"Ah, (Y/N)! It's good you got here safely." Arthur smiled, letting you inside.

"So Arthur," you began, as you sat on a chair in his living room. "What'd you wanna do?" you asked.

As Arthur opened his mouth to reply, an alarm went off. You could guess that it was the fire alarm, as a smokey smell began to waft in from the kitchen. Arthur shot up, running into the kitchen while you followed close behind. It turns out, what ever he had in his oven was burning, and the smoke had set off the fire alarm.

"Bloody Hell! Not again!" he yelled at no-one (maybe the food, who knows?). Eventually it stopped smoking, and you helped him disable all the fire alarms that had gone off.

"Bloody.. I'm sorry for that, (Y/N).." Arthur apologized as he threw away the burnt food, which you though might have been scones or muffins.

"I don't mind, really," you replied. Suddenly, you thought of something you and Arthur could do together.

"Want me to teach you some baking? So you don't, y'know, burn your house down?" You suggested. "I won't burn my house down!" Aurthur replied before considering your offer.

"I guess, if it isn't much trouble," he answered. You smiled as you both made your way back into the kitchen.

"Okay," you said as you clapped your hands together. "First, let's get the bowls and pans,"

-----

"...and now you add the sugar, and then the milk," you instructed, as you worked on making the frosting for the desert.

"Okay," Arthur replied as he, presumably, did. You didn't bother checking his work. You had faith in him, and besides, you were busy making frosting (yum!).

-----

"..Aaaandd they're done!" you announced, finishing the frosting on your last cookie.

"They look good," Arthur said, looking at them, a smile on his face. He looked quite proud of his not-in-flames cookies that you had helped him make.

"Let's eat then!" you said, picking up one of the cookies Arthur had decorated. You waited for him to pick one of yours, then took a bite. "Mmm.." you hummed as you chewed. Though, something tasted a bit off. Arthur must've accidentally added too much sugar, you thought.

You looked to Arthur, to see him looking at you, rather than eating his cookie. He looked like he was waiting for a reaction, or something..

As you finished your cookie, a headache made itself noticeable. It quickly increased, and before you knew it, your vision faded to black.

-----

"..you didn't..(Y/N)?" a voice you could identify as Alfred's said. The voice was muffled, as your head spun. You were yet to open your eyes.

"I tried!...After cookies but..knocked out!" Arthur replied to whatever Alfred had said.

Was Arthur trying to tell me something? you wondered, as you slowly sat up.

Your head was still pounding, but you tried to ignore it. You finally opened your eyes to find yourself in a dark room, that looked like Arthur's guest room. You stood, holding your head, and exited the room. You could see Alfred and Arthur now, talking in the middle of the living room.

"How did you manage that, British dude?" Alfred asked, laughing a bit.

"I-I don't know! I was only trying to make it better! Th-then, if she liked it, I was going to tell her." Arthur replied, defending himself. You chose now to speak up.

"Tell me what?" You asked, walking out into the living room. For an unknown reason, Arthur's face was as red as one of Antonio's tomatoes when he saw you.

"Nothing." he said quickly, not keeping eye contact.

"Just tell her you like her already!" Alfred encouraged Arthur. Upon hearing this, your face went flush.

"Alfred!" Arthur yelled at his brother, hitting him.

"Wh-what..?" you asked, still processing it all, as you stared at the brothers. Arthur made eye contact for a second, and seemed to get redder. He looked down.

"I-I like you." he stated. Without a verbal reply, you pulled Arthur into a kiss.

"Aw~! Arthur and (Y/N) sittin' in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then-" you both pulled back and yelled at Alfred to shut up before he could continue to embarrass you both any further.
